If your computer is configured to play sound, then you should only need a couple of small, free software programs to be able to receive Jesus Music Oldies. First, you should make sure that your computer has speakers that are turned on and that your computer's sound card is set to play sound. Next, go to the "Listen" page on our site and pick the link that best describes the speed you connect to the internet at. • Why does the station fade, skip or drop out sometimes?

Streaming technology is not perfect yet and the quality of the stream can depend on many different factors such as the speed and quality of your connection to the internet, the number of servers the stream has to go through and the speed of your computer's processor, etc. Make sure that you have clicked the link for the right connection speed or the station make not play properly. • Does it cost anything to listen to Jesus Music Oldies?

Currently, there is no charge to listen to Jesus Music Oldies. But our song royalty fees are about to increase up to five times the current rate. And we have also been limited to the number of simultaneous listeners tuned in. So if you try to listen and you get a notice that the station is currently not available, it's probably because the number of SL's has been exceeded. See our special page on these and other changes that have come to Jesus Music Oldies and Live365: Changes To Jesus Music Oldies

  • How does Jesus Music Oldies pay the broadcasting bills?

Jesus Music Oldies web radio currently pays the fees and webcasting bills out of our own pockets. It is definitely a labor of love and considered a ministry. But the future is uncertain as the fees and costs continue to rise. JMO Media, owners of Jesus Music Oldies, had four web radio stations and recently had to close one and will soon have to pull the plug on another because of the costs. Even if that happens, Jesus Music Oldies HS will stay on the air.

  • What can I do to help with the costs?

There are several things you can do. 1) First, search through the website here and when you find an album that has a CD available, buy it by clicking the link. We get a small commission when you buy through one of our links. It's the same price you would pay by going directly to these sites so you aren't paying any more for the CD. And it helps JMO. 2) What helps us the most, is to give directly to JMO through PayPal. Click on the buttons that you'll find in different places on the site and give a small gift. If all our listeners gave a dollar a month, we could pay our bills, plus expand our storage which would enable us to have a larger rotation of songs. And we could also expand our library when new CDs of Jesus Music are released. If you would, please pray about becoming a monthly supporter of Jesus Music Oldies.

  • Can I donate to Jesus Music Oldies to help out?

Up until recently, the answer was no. Because of tight restrictions handed down in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, CARP and the RIAA, Live365 stations were not allowed to solicite or collect funds for the broadcasting of copyrighted music over our web stations. Even if the gift were for the non-profit support of a not for profit station, we could not legally receive it. But these restrictions have been eased and you may now donate directly to the stations via PayPal and may support the stations by using the affiliate links you'll find around the website. Thanks to Live365 for pushing for change in the regulations!

So the action by you the listener that will help us out the MOST, and will help ensure that Classic Christian Music Radio stays on the web is to give directly to Jesus Music Oldies via the Pay Pal buttons and links found on various pages of this website. And if you can, please give monthly. If each listener to Jesus Music Oldies gave but one dollar a month, we could pay most of our bills and be able to purchase the few CDs of Jesus Music that are rarely released! Look for the Pay Pal links.

  • Does being a Preferred Member help Jesus Music Oldies?

For a monthly fee, a Live365 Preferred Member has access to the thousands of web radio stations hosted at Live365 without having to hear any of the instream ads that regular members have to hear. Preferred Members also won't get any pop-up advertisements while they are listening to Live365. At one time we were advising our listeners to become PMs, which gives the station a very small credit on our bill. But the amount is so small, it does not help. We are now suggesting our listeners donate that fee directly to Jesus Music Oldies via Pay Pal to help us stay online.

  • Why does the station occasionally drop me?

Periodic drops are not unusual for streaming radio. There could be many reasons. The station server may have dropped power momentarily. Or one of the many servers inbetween the host server and your computer may have hiccupped. There's also the possibility that we had to switch from live or relay back to the server based stream and this can drop listeners. And finally, sometimes due to maintanence or program switch overs, we are forced to start the stream again and this can drop listeners. The latest Live365 Player claims to restart dropped programs. We've not had the opportunity to test this yet. If you get dropped, simply restart the station and you'll be back enjoying Jesus Music Oldies in less than a minute.
